Finally!!!! It is walking weather, or at least it was walking weather. Until I woke up this morning to a typhoon outside. But who cares about the rain. My days no longer consist of big, bulky coats, finding hats and gloves, making sure each kid has that dreaded undershirt on and then the dreaded "snow floor" at my back door when they finally decide to shuffle their half frozen bodies inside from blocking entrance to my drive way with a sumo-wrestling style snow man protected by The Great Wall and all.
Praise the Lord, we have been oustide playing daily since Saturday. And let me tell you; sunshine does a body good, possibly even better than milk! We have went on several walks (Imagine the looks i get walking with EIGHT kids from people driving by) and we have already made two trips to the park. We had our first official cookout followed by the annual lighting of the fire pit! Exciting, exciting things around here. I am just thrilled that the kids can finally burn off some of that well stored up energy that is burning a hole in their pocket.
Yesterday I took the three elementary kids to the dentist. And drumroll please......THEIR TEETH ARE IN GREAT SHAPE!!!! So, Mom, you can feel free to get off my back about my no sugar rule because it has paid off. No decay, no cavities and their hygiene is excellent. Dr. Wittgen even asked me if I still brush their teeth. Umm, no they are 4, 5 and 6 years old I thought. But he was very impressed with the job they do brushing and flossing. The assistant even asked if she could hug me for making her day so much easier. This is a great report considering the condition of Alecia's teeth when she first entered foster care.
Track season has started in highschool and N is keeping very busy with that. Fine with me, means less time for boys and trouble!
I went and watched my niece, yes my niece, wrestle for the middle school over the weekend. I HATED it! She loves it and is very dedicated, but I will probably not go back.
T-ball is coming soon, too! And I am so VERY excited for it. This is the 2nd year Alecia will play and I am anxious to see if the beginning of this season will be a repeat of last year. If you have never been to a kindergarten league t-ball game I strongly encourage you to go, espically if you are in need of a good laugh!
Things around here have been pretty boring. Pretty much diapers, cook, clean, play taxi to my eight kids and ALL of their friends and try to find time for myself. I usually look forward to spring break but I am half way dreading it this year. I know that it will in no way, shape or form compare to last year when just the four of us took our little jaunt to FL for a week. This year I have to entertain six additional kids and try to keep the house quiet for Bart to sleep. Suggestions of activities would be GREAT!!! I am thinking French Lick indoor water park one day. But I am lost as for the rest of the days. Maybe the children's museum in Eville. We'll just have to see.
**My weekly comedy relief brought to us courtesy of Tomas**
We were driving home from school and were in front of the square stopped at the light. Tomas looks over and sees a no parking sign, the kind with the black P that is crossed out. And he blurts out, "Look Mommy, no peeing there!" I said, "WHAT???" And he explains to me, "That sign with the P, no peeing there!" HAHAHAHAHA, I laughed the entire way home. Funny thing is, when we got home I told his daddy. And what did Daddy say? "I used to think the same thing, too." I summed it up to.......BOYS
