In my life where I have so many ups and downs with what I do; I decided now is the season to try and tell what I am thankful for. You know; since Thanksgiving is coming up and all. So I am trying to post daily one thing that I am thankful for. I challange you to do it, too and see what all you you come up with.
Day 1
I should start the first day with the most important. I am thankful for the Holy Trinty. God, Jesus and the Holy Ghost. The trinity is something very special and in my opinion the first and most prime example of team work. Without one the other two are null and void. They are together but seperate. They all work together but have their own job. To non-believers this probably makes no sense at all. But to those who know; you just know.
1. God-Heavenly Father-Lord=Whatever name you call him. He is our spiritual Father. He loves us more than we can imagine, more than we love our own kids, more than anyone can describe. Who else would give up their own son for me? Nobody! As a parent I surely wouldn't give up any of my kids (even on a bad day) for anyone! And then to do it in hopes that people would trust me with their eternity?!?! Yeah right. You see, I'm just human. I posess nothing special or "magical." I can't perform miracles. Yet we trust in a belief we can not and will not see until 1. the day we die or 2. we are called up by Gabriel's trumpet in the rapture. To me God is just something I get.
2.Jesus, the son of God-Jesus is a man; a man of miracles, a man of integrity, a man of hope. Jesus was born to Mary who was married to Joseph. Jesus bagan his life as a miracle by being born to a woman who was a virgin. He started off being almost "unbelievable." Yet I, and others believe. Don't ask how. We just do. Jesus went on to perform miracles all thru his life. He healed the blind man with MUD! With mud! How?!?! By faith. You must have faith. Jesus died for me. Jesus died for my family. Jesus died for you. Jesus died for generations to come. Just so we could secure a home in Heaven. He loved us enough to die for us. Jesus not only died; He was tortured, beaten, battered and spat upon. All so we might believe in Him and His Father. Jesus is our link to God; our link to Heaven. No man can enter the gates of Heaven without first calling upon Jesus. He is our umbillical cord to a peaceful and beautiful eternity.
3. The Holy Ghost or The Holy Spirit- This one is hard. I thought wrapping up Jesus and God was going to be a task... The Holy Spirit is like a feeling; a presence of sorts. He is our comforter. He allows us to feel blessings, to feel God's love, and probably most importantly to feel conviction. The Holy Spirit is the knock of God on our heart. Without the Holy Spirit our souls would be hard and bitter. Our hearts would not feel joy or sadness. We could not know God's love or understanding.
So you see they all have a job; but if one was missing the other two could not perform. It's kind like an egg. The egg has three parts: the shell the white and the yolk. An egg is not an egg without all three. Have you ever had an egg white omlette? Me neither; but I can guess it's not as good as a traditional omlette with all it's parts! Are you feeling me here?
I hope you were able to follow my ramblings. I am thankful to have all three in my life, in my heart. Through them I have secured my eternity; I have made my reservations for my mansion. I have faith in an all mighty God. A God that will not take me where He will not protect me. A God that knows me and knows those who do bad against me and planse to deal with them in His time. A God who loves me. And for that I am thankful.
