Day Two and Three

#2. I am thankful for my kids' health. Last night; I sat at soccer practice and watched my two boys play with all their heart and it hit me like a bomb... some parents don't get to watch their kids play in team sports. I wanted to cry right there in front of everyone and they would think I had no apparent reason! So, I quickly had to regain my composure as not to look like a frantic basket case/mental hospital escapee. Do you ever have those moments?
They ran, kicked, blocked, fell down and got back up again. All with ease. In an extended family that has been riddled with childhood disease and even family members having to bury their children; it makes the health of my kids that much more special.
Thank you God for blessing my kids with their health.
And #3 (because I slacked yesterday!) My Mom
My mom has been such an instrumental part of my parenting. She has literally been there every step of the way. We are so on the same page and she knows how to pep talk like nobody else. Now, don't get me wrong; she has her moments;) but I literally could not do this without her. Who else would answer the phone at midnight knowing the person on the other end would be asking you to come over and sit with numerous kids while I went and brought home yet another one? She allows me to do what do. She gave me my foundation and pushes me to be my best day in and day out. She is there to volunteer her work when I am too proud to ask for help. She offers to come put the kids to bed when I am sick. And bedtime is like a sacred ritual at my house. Getting tucked in was my most important and loving part of the day growing up and that is something I have passed to my kids. So if anyone else had to take over tucking my kids in it would have to be my mom. For her and all the things she does; Thank you Lord! My mom and Alecia posing in the Prairie Dog Body on vacation. Who else would go on a 10 hour car ride with a 4 year old, two six year olds and a 14 (and a half) year old? But she was a sport! And we loved every minute of it. The kids love their Memaw. And she teaches them the best You are my Sunshine ever. Even if "P" does tell me she not my girl, but "Me Memaw's sushine." And yes there is no "N" it's sushine!
