This is possibly, the best summer ever.
We were able to do so many fun things this year. Day to day, it seems like such small things. But, to look back, we were pretty busy with a lot of stuff going on.
The kids started the summer with the reading program at the local library. A magic show, water show, music show, different story tellers. It was colorful. And we got new books every week. Lots of new books!
We got to spend a bit of time at the town's splash park. The park's department just finished constructing it as summer started up. It was nice to be able to get wet without actually going swimming. We did visit two other splash parks in the area. We liked to mix it up.
Grandma's house was a favorite hang out. Lots of playtime in the back yard and hanging out on the front porch. It's like I have six kids when I go there. Does anyone else feel like they have to babysit their father?
Bart has had an unbelievable schedule, over twice the hours of last summer. I'm getting use to having either feast or famine around here. Just have to roll with the punches, right? What else can you do?
He wasn't able to join us on the Fourth. So, we went to his parents' house. Did a little cook out, hung out and then went to their fireworks celebration. Gavin was really into the fireworks this year. It was a good show. I saw some things I had never seen before.
This was just out day in-day out happenings. Tune in later for the details on Duckworth Family Reunion-Hippie Style 2013 and our Smoky Mountain Vacation.
